Coffee

Unlike many Americans, I’m caffeine free, but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying the wonderful taste of coffee frequently. For the most part I’m a decaf Dunk’s kinda girl, and since I’m a vegan, I like it black with a couple of sugars.

Recently Judge (the boyfriend) and I have been itching to buy something new. He wants to buy a new car or a motor cycle, but I think it best not to get into debt and have him shoot a little lower. So we do some research on the best type of coffee machines. Do we want a cheap-o drip machine? Or how about a Kurig, I hear those are pretty nice? One that has a self timer, now that would make mornings easier! Oh, fresh ground coffee sounds amazing, maybe we should get one with a built in grinder?

…And on, and on, AND ON it goes. I honestly think we might possibly, maybe… ALMOST enjoy the product research over the product.

After two days of looking up information and talking about what we want and need from a coffee machine we decide to go to the mall and finally make a purchase that we feel comfortable with. As we walk to the car we discuss how much we spent, a scant $50, and are happy with it. We then go to the grocery store to grab our coffee. I’m very shocked yet happy with the decaf selection they have and pick mine out rather fast, switching over at the last second, when Judge spots another decaf flavor he knows I would enjoy more. Judge is the reason we’re in that isle for twenty minutes. The man just can’t decided which flavor he likes best and I can’t blame him, they’re are so many to choose from.

Our first cups of coffee are delicious, amazing, better than we had expected. We’re saving so much money now and enjoying our coffee so much more. Yes, those are great reason for buying a coffee machine, maybe even the best in most peoples eyes, but for me there’s something more. When we brewed our coffee, poured it into our mugs and added the sugar and cream, a conversation was born. There were no long drive through lines, loud music blaring from the radio, or the shopping rush that normally comes when we get our weekend morning coffee. There was just us, our coffee, and our words.

We bought the coffee machine so we could have something new, knowing we would have a better taste and save a bunch of money, and came home with time and togetherness we never knew we were missing out on.
